I actually own the old model Sony HDR-SR12 which also is an AVCHD hard disk drive camcorder. The new model HDR-XR520VE features a 240 GB hard drive, a better sensor and lens as well as GPS. I like the hard drive as you can shoot months of video without changing media. The picture quality in low-light should be even better with the new model.
